KOTA KINABALU, May 4, 2026 – A community health screening program held today at Central Plaza Shopping Mall, Kepayan Ridge, Luyang received an encouraging response from local residents, reflecting growing public awareness of the importance of healthcare.
The program was a collaboration between the Luyang State Assemblyman’s Office and the Api-Api State Assemblyman’s Office, with support from the mall management, which provided the venue for the initiative.
Luyang State Assemblyman, Samuel Wong, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in making the program a success.
According to him, the program was carried out in collaboration with several strategic partners, namely Klinik & Surgeri Dr Mohan, Innoquest Pathology, and Alpro Pharmacy, in an effort to bring basic healthcare services closer to the community.
“Through the PEKA B40 program, Klinik & Surgeri Dr Mohan provided blood and urine tests to eligible residents. Alpro Pharmacy, meanwhile, offered basic health screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar levels, body mass index (BMI), and blood oxygen levels,” he said.
In addition, the Luyang State Assemblyman’s Office set up a service counter at the venue to receive and review complaints and issues raised by local residents.
He added that his office remains committed to organizing more health programs and sharing sessions that benefit the community in the future.
Such programs are seen as an important platform to improve access to healthcare services, especially for those in need, while strengthening relationships between leaders and the local community.
