ALLOCATION FOR KG SELAMAT LOK URAI PULAU GAYA, APPROVED
According to an article that went viral on the Info X platform, there are claims that the government has approved an allocation of RM300,000 for the reconstruction of the bridge in Kampung Selamat, Lok Urai, Pulau Gaya, Sabah, following the collapse of the bridge on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year.
The office of the ADUN N.22 Tanjung Aru hereby emphasizes that the 100-foot bridge at the location has been fully reconstructed using its own funds without any allocation from any government party. The construction work was completed on April 14, 2026.
In this regard, any party is strictly prohibited from making any claims or "claims" for allocation on this bridge project, as it is not funded by government funds.
The DBKK and all related departments and ministries are requested to take note of this matter. Should there be any attempts to make allocation claims against this constructed bridge, we will not hesitate to report to the MACC for further investigation.
As a suggestion, we believe that the approved allocation would be better channeled towards the repair or reconstruction of other dilapidated bridges around the Pulau Gaya area, for the benefit and safety of the local residents.
