PRESS STATEMENT: WOMEN OF WARISAN PARTY REACH OUT TO FIRE VICTIMS IN KG. BAHAGIA, SANDAKAN
SANDAKAN (25 April 2026) – The leadership of the Women of Warisan Party has been on the ground for two consecutive days, from 24 April to 25 April 2026, to visit and assist the victims of the fire disaster in Kampung Bahagia.
This humanitarian mission was led by Ms. Norfaizah Chua (Head of Women Warisan Sabah), Ms. Shirley (Deputy Head of Women Warisan Central), Ms. Hasnizah Borhan (Head of Information for Women Central), and accompanied by the lineup of Exco Women Warisan Sabah.
During these two days, the delegation visited the fire site in Kg. Bahagia and 8 Temporary Accommodation Centers (PPS) housing the affected families. In addition to providing moral support, various essential contributions were delivered to alleviate the burden of the victims, including:
- Women & Adult Needs: Underwear, sarongs, and daily clothing.
- Baby & Children Needs: Nutritional milk and disposable diapers (pampers).
- Logistics Needs: Food containers and various other essential items.
Ms. Norfaizah Chua stated that their presence was to ensure the welfare of the victims, especially women and children, receives the appropriate attention at the PPS.
"We pray that all fire victims remain patient and strong in facing this very heavy trial. May Allah SWT replace all losses with blessings and better sustenance. We will continue to stand firm with the Sandakan community during this difficult time," she said.
This mission concluded with hopes that the recovery process for the victims can proceed smoothly and all affected families can return to their daily lives as soon as possible.
