WARISAN MOVEMENT HUMANITARIAN AID MISSION TO HOUSE FIRE VICTIMS IN KG BAHAGIA, SANDAKAN
SANDAKAN, April 24, 2026 — The Parti Warisan Sabah launched a humanitarian aid mission to Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan to assist residents affected by the house fire that occurred in the area.
The mission brought together the cooperation of the leadership of the Parti Warisan Sabah, volunteers, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to ensure that basic necessities could be delivered promptly to the victims.
The delegation from Kota Kinabalu was led by the Chief Information Officer of Warisan Pusat, Datuk Azis Jamman, along with Khairuddin Daud as the Deputy Chief of Wira Central, Anwar Wak (Secretary of Wira Central), Affendi (Chief of Wira Sepanggar), Warisan Sepanggar Team, Central Information Team, and the NGO Sabah Tavan Welfare and Entrepreneur Association.
Also present in Sandakan was Alias Sani, the ADUN of Sekong, along with the Warisan Team from Batu Sapi, Sandakan, and Kinabatangan, as well as Bakram Hatib, the Chief Information Officer of Libaran.
The aid convoy arrived in Sandakan on April 24 carrying various basic necessities using five four-wheel drive vehicles and a truck to expedite the delivery process to the victims.
Among the aid provided were hygiene kits, children's diapers, mattresses, and new and used clothing.
All aid items were collected at the office of the ADUN Karamunting, Alex Wong, which served as the coordination center before being distributed to the fire victims.
In a field briefing to the delegation from Kota Kinabalu, Alias Sani informed that the affected victims are currently housed in eight Temporary Evacuation Centers (PPS) and still require ongoing assistance, especially regarding basic necessities and logistical support.
The mission reflects the ongoing commitment of Warisan along with volunteers and NGOs in helping people facing disasters and ensuring that the welfare of fire victims continues to receive attention.
